ok i already commented on deviant, but.......even if you did suck at colors, which you dont, these are pretty decent, you kick ass at everything else. nice progress girl!
Ohoh! Kiki!! I love being mean! So here goes: Something about her eyes/cheeks/lips bothers me. Like if you look from the eye, down to the upper lip, there's no curvature. looks like a muppet mouth. Maybe you meant it that way but I don't like it. I like curvy things. Always. So yeah, take that!
Also, since I'm on being a jerk right now, I disagree with Julio on textures, and I think he's just looking for some shit to critique for the sake of critiquing. I think the smooth glossy feel that everything has completely works. It's consistent and to me it makes sense for the character...
...Which brings me to what I love about everything you draw: your characters are all completely alive and full of motion and joy. They all seem really happy that you created them! I feel like they're going to wiggle off the page at any moment!! :D Also I think it's interesting (and rad) that you often draw dynamic high angles... In real life, do you often jump over people? Or is your spirit secretly a towering giant? Or is it that your imagination is a little ghost, always floating up and back to the top corner of the room and peering down curiously from its vantage above? Hmmm... Whatever it is, it makes me very happy. (look how much i wrote^^^!)
i agree with you about the face...might have just been the way i did the lighting. (I suck at lighting...) :(
but thank you for your comment paragraphs! :D to answer your questions, yes, I am in fact a gigantic 8 foot tall monster that simply carries the illusion of being a little girl, in order to lure in prey and feast upon it. (don't tell anyone.) also, I do jump over things, people, trees, bushes, my dog, etc.
for the sake of starting another dispute, let me prescribe Julio and Brian a freaking chill pill. let me follow up by saying what needs to be improved upon in this piece. first of all, there is a briefcase under the chair that I am pretty sure is a bomb. A way to difuse the situation (pun) there is to place some sort of character in the seat above it. I was thinking maybe some sort of platypus man wearing a suit and a fedora oddly gawking at the girl that is entering the train sticking her ass out like a total hussy. I mean really, who does that? although, I think I agree with Julio on the textures. I think if you are going to put cracks in the windows like that then it implies that this train is in some sort of disrepair. also it appears as though her left sock is sagging, how careless of you.
haha YEAH!! why isn't anyone else worried about the suitcase bomb?!?! geez, who cares about the colors or anything else? that train is about to go kaboom!!!!!!! :D
and zack, im pretty sure that is the nicest thing you have ever said about any of my drawings...!!
Nice job sneaking in your name in the top right and a "I <3 SF" sign.
